PSD Launches Winter Vehicle Inspection Campaign Across Kingdom

02-11-2025 01:00 PM

Ammon News - The Public Security Directorate (PSD) on Saturday launched its winter vehicle inspection campaign aimed at ensuring the roadworthiness and safety of vehicles during the winter season.

Director of the Traffic Department, Brig. Gen. Raed Al-Assaf, said that a total of 38,000 vehicles underwent technical inspection on the first day of the campaign, which covered all regions of the Kingdom. The inspections were carried out by specialized teams from the traffic departments, the Royal Department for Environment Protection, and technical crews from the Maintenance Department.

He noted that around 30,000 vehicles were found to be in good technical condition and safe for driving, while observations requiring maintenance were recorded for approximately 8,000 vehicles.

Text messages (SMS) were sent to the owners of vehicles with deficiencies, Al-Assaf explained, urging them to visit the traffic departments or the Licensing Directorate during official working hours, or to head to the newly introduced evening mobile inspection stations after addressing the identified issues.

He stressed that the campaign does not involve seizing vehicle licenses, but rather issuing correction notices to drivers to follow up on necessary repairs.

Al-Assaf commended citizens’ strong cooperation with field teams, noting that many drivers voluntarily stopped their vehicles for inspection, a reflection of public awareness and a high sense of responsibility.
