29-10-2025 05:08 PM

Ammon News - The Hashemite University (HU) and the German Embassy in Amman discussed means to enhance technical education, activate student and academic exchange programs, and establish joint projects in advanced technology, environment, renewable energy, sustainability, and water sectors.

In a Wednesday statement, HU President, Khaled Hyari, referred to significance of benefiting from Germany’s "advanced" experience in education, research, and practical training areas.

Hyari also noted strengthening cooperation in offering technical majors that connect with the industrial sector, develop the education system, and meet labor market needs.

He highlighted the importance of joint academic programs, including teaching German to university students and Arabic to German students, in a bid to foster cultural understanding and deepen academic ties.

In turn, German Ambassador to Jordan Bertram von Moltke praised the university’s academic position, scientific excellence, and openness to international cooperation.

The diplomat called for activating partnerships with German universities in various fields, particularly language education, hosting German students, and expanding joint research and bilateral projects.

During his visit to the Prince Hassan bin Talal Faculty of Natural Resources and Environment, the ambassador observed student-led initiatives focusing on environmental and developmental issues, especially green projects reflecting the university’s "commitment" to sustainability and volunteer work.

Commending the students’ innovation and active participation, Moltke emphasized the importance of expanding environmental cooperation between Jordanian and German universities.
