Ammon News - The 11th annual Destination Wedding Planners (DWP) Conference opened in Aqaba on Tuesday, under the patronage of Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Imad Hijazin.

The conference marks the launch of the world’s largest business-to-business (B2B) destination wedding platform, bringing together nearly 500 industry leaders from more than 70 countries in the Red Sea city.

Organized by QnA International in partnership with the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority and the Jordan Tourism Board, the event positions Aqaba as a hub for creativity, collaboration, and innovation in the luxury wedding industry.

Chairperson of the Board of Commissioners at the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, Shadi Majali, said during a press conference, "We are proud to host the world’s leading destination wedding planners in Aqaba, a celebration of creativity, luxury, and the art of turning dreams into reality."

He added that Aqaba’s unique natural landscapes, rich culture, and world-class hospitality make it an ideal setting for creating unforgettable experiences and shaping the future of destination weddings.

Director General of the Jordan Tourism Board (JTB), Abdul Razzaq Arabiyat, said that hosting the conference in Aqaba is a strategic step to enhance Jordan’s position on the global tourism map, highlighting the Kingdom’s potential as an ideal destination for luxury weddings.

He reaffirmed the board’s commitment to supporting the wedding industry as a promising sector that strengthens the national tourism economy and promotes Jordan as a comprehensive tourist destination.

Arabiyat added that Jordan is home to about 15 exceptional historical sites suitable for hosting events from ancient ruins to scenic coastal locations, offering a distinctive platform for celebrations inspired by history.

He noted that hosting the conference in Aqaba enhances Jordan’s global standing in this specialized field and underscores the board’s commitment to positioning the Kingdom as a premier destination for luxury celebrations.
