Ammon News - The city of Aqaba is set to host six teams participating in the 12th edition of the West Asian Football Federation (WAFF) U-17 Championship, scheduled to take place from October 27 to November 4, 2025.

To date, national teams from Jordan, Syria, Iraq, Palestine, Kuwait, and Lebanon have confirmed their participation. The draw will be held at 12:00 p.m. on October 14 to determine structures of the participating teams.

The tournament, which precedes the Asian qualifiers set for this November 22–30, serves as an "important" preparatory stage for the national teams ahead of the continental competition.

The Syrian national team snatched the title of the 11th edition, held in Jordan in late 2024.

The previous tournament featured nine teams: Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, Syria, and Palestine.
