01-10-2025 03:27 PM

Ammon News - The Energy Platform project, supervised by German Jordanian University (GJU), snatched the "Special Recognition" Award from the Emirates Energy Award (EEA).

The competition was organized by Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, as part of its fifth edition, held this year under the theme "Promoting Carbon Neutrality."

In a ceremony held in Dubai, Bushra Abbadi, Director of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources's Planning and International Cooperation Directorate, received the award on behalf of the Minister of Energy, Dr. Saleh Kharabsheh, and Dr. Ayman Batayneh represented the GJU President, Dr. Alaa Eddin Al-Halhouli.

According to a ministry statement on Wednesday, the honor represents a "notable achievement" for the university and the Energy Innovation Platform (EIP) project, which was launched jointly by the university and the ministry.

The project is also a "pioneering" initiative in supporting applied research with practical impact, strengthening partnerships between students and the industrial sector, and leading innovative energy solutions for various sectors.

The statement noted this recognition enhances the platform's status as a "regional model for comprehensive and sustainable innovation" in the energy sector, thanks to its scalability and expansion, and opens new horizons for international cooperation, funding, and implementation of joint projects on a broader scale.

In its current edition, more than 240 entities from 24 countries took part, reflecting the "great" confidence in the award and its importance in stimulating innovation and honoring the best practices in clean energy and sustainable development.
