Ammon News - Chaired by Minister of State for Prime Ministry Affairs, Abdul Latif Najdawi, the team entrusted to review clarifications monitored by Audit Bureau held a meeting Tuesday to discuss their audit findings during the past two months of July and August.

Najdawi revealed the team audited data of a total of 15 institutions and entities during the past two months.

Talking at the meeting, he announced 22 audit findings were documented against these institutions, confirming the team has taken the "necessary" measures to rectify the identified violations.

Najdawi noted "numerous" violations were recorded in four municipalities in the period ahead of dissolution of the Kingdom's municipal councils, namely in New Umm al-Basatin, Umm al-Rasas, al-Qatrana, and New Ramtha.

On their severity, he noted these violations primarily concentrated in the unjustified disbursement of sums of money, bonuses, and allowances, as well as blatant irregularities in disbursement procedures, financial discrepancies in due and actual revenues, use of government vehicles contrary to instructions, and others.

Najdawi also revealed a violation recorded in New Ramtha Municipality involving appointment of 8 non-Jordanian national workers without obtaining proper approvals and disbursement of salaries and financial sums to them despite their presence outside the country.

Najdawi announced the necessary measures are currently taken to rectify the matter.

Additionally, he stated the team discussed issues related to some public universities, noting the presence of violations, as 1 university assigned government employees to teach during their normal working hours, contrary to the official approvals.

Najdawi underlined the team's continued work to address violations on a regular basis, as part of its "commitment" to addressing them "promptly and avoid accumulation."

The efforts, he noted, also aimed to strengthen pre-audit and governance procedures in the institutions' operations and reducing violations as much as possible, he pointed out.
