Jordan, African Chambers discuss boosting trade ties

Ammon News - The Jordan Chamber of Commerce (JCC) held a series of meetings with representatives of African chambers of commerce and industry to discuss ways of strengthening economic cooperation and exploring investment opportunities.

According to a JCC statement, the meetings took place on the sidelines of the "Invest in the Digital Economy Forum" in Amman. Discussions covered cooperation with chambers from Guinea, Chad, Niger, Mauritania, and Sudan.

Talks with the Guinean side highlighted opportunities in mining and agriculture, while meetings with Chad and Niger focused on possible participation in upcoming economic events and the exchange of information on investment prospects.

The Mauritanian side discussed enhancing cooperation in trade fairs, while Sudan outlined opportunities in sesame, livestock, meat, gum arabic, and other commodities.

JCC President Khalil Al-Haj Tawfiq stressed the importance of Africa as a strategic market, noting Jordan’s efforts to expand economic openness toward the continent. He said the Chamber plans to continue its engagement through joint events, virtual sectoral meetings, and trade delegations.
