Amman ranks 5th among Arab cities in traffic congestion

Ammon News - The Jordanian capital Amman ranked 5th among the most congested Arab cities in 2025, according to the 2025 Traffic Index issued by Numbeo.

Amman came after Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates, which ranked first, followed by Cairo and Alexandria, and then the Lebanese capital Beirut.

The traffic index was based on four pillars: average daily travel time, degree of frustration or annoyance, traffic system efficiency, and carbon dioxide emissions.

Amman scored 185.6 points, Sharjah scored 310.6 points, Cairo 241.2 points, Alexandria 199.4 points, and Beirut scored 188.8 points.

Muscat, the capital city of Oman, was the least congested city in the index, with a score of 118.7 points.
