The Public Security Directorate (PSD) announced on Sunday that it has again suspended passenger traffic at the King Hussein Bridge (Karameh Crossing) on the other side.
The PSD urged travelers to check media updates for information on when the crossing will reopen.
Israeli authorities closed the King Hussein Bridge crossing between Jordan and the West Bank on Sunday, turning back buses carrying passengers that had departed earlier on Sunday morning, despite their prior announcement that the crossing would reopen.
The Public Security Directorate (PSD)'s Bridges Security Department announced on Saturday that King Hussein Bridge will reopen to passenger traffic on Sunday, Sep. 21, while the commercial (cargo) crossing will remain closed until further notice.
Jordan announced on Thursday that it would suspend passenger traffic across the King Hussein Bridge after the Israeli side closed it, following a shooting incident at the King Hussein Bridge (Allenby Bridge crossing) that resulted in the deaths of two Israelis.
