Ammon News - The Public Security Directorate spokesperson stated that a report was received by the Jerash Police Directorate on September 18, 2025, regarding a fire in a wooded area in Jerash Governorate.

The fire was extinguished, and a body of a person was found inside a two-meter-deep pit. The body was taken to the forensic laboratory, which determined that the cause of death was a gunshot wound. A special investigative team was then formed to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident and determine the circumstances surrounding the death.

The spokesperson confirmed that through their investigation and gathering of information, the team was able to narrow down their suspicions to one person, who was the individual the victim had approached to collect outstanding payments owed to the victim's employer.

After the suspect was arrested and interrogated, he confessed to shooting the victim and then burning his body to cover up the crime, claiming that he did this to avoid paying a debt he owed to the victim's employer, and to make it appear as if he had already paid the debt to the victim, the spokesperson added.

The firearm used in the crime was seized, and the case will be referred to the public prosecutor for prosecution in the High Criminal Court.
