Ammon News - The Cabinet decided to exempt vehicles that were cleared by customs before June 28, 2025, from the general sales tax.

A decision was issued on June 28, 2025, to cancel the exemption of cars from the general sales tax, so that all types of cars, whether gasoline-powered, electric, or hybrid, will be subject to the general sales tax at a rate of 16%.

The Cabinet's recent decision to exempt vehicles cleared before June 28, 2025, was based on a recommendation from the Economic Modernization and Development Committee issued during its session held on August 31, 2025.

The Prime Minister communicated the Cabinet's decision on income and sales tax through the Minister of Finance, in a letter reviewed by "Ammon New", issued on September 10, 2025.
