Ammon News - Under royal directives, the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO), in coordination with the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army, dispatched on Thursday a Jordanian food aid convoy consisting of 14 trucks accompanied by a Qatari aid convoy of 27 trucks carrying food and medical supplies to the Syrian Arab Republic.
JHCO Secretary-General Hussein Shibli, said that this comes as part of Jordanian-Qatari support and a joint Arab effort to support Syria and help it cope with the difficult humanitarian conditions caused by the unfortunate events in As-Suwayda Governorate.
Shibli added that coordination has been made with the Syrian government to bring in aid through the Jaber/Nassib border crossing, in preparation for transporting the aid via the Syrian Red Crescent and distributing it to those entitled to it in As-Suwayda Governorate, including As-Suwayda City and areas west of As-Suwayda, in addition to shelters for displaced persons in Daraa and Rif Dimashq Governorates.
The two Jordanian-Qatari aid convoys are an emergency response to the needs of the city of As-Suwayda and the rest of the governorate, as well as areas sheltering those displaced by the unfortunate events that took place there months ago, Shibli noted.
Shibli praised the Syrian government's cooperation and its commitment to delivering aid to all affected areas, as well as its efforts to improve the humanitarian situation there.
