Ammon News - The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO) confirmed that 65 trucks of humanitarian aid crossed into the Gaza Strip last week, out of a total of 150 trucks that had been prepared.

JHCO indicated that less than half of the trucks sent from Jordan are allowed to cross, amid ongoing obstacles, including the crossing's closing time before all trucks have passed, delays in the start of daily inspections, and the rejection of some materials despite obtaining prior approvals through the approved coordination platform.

The organization explained that its warehouses are full of essential relief supplies, while loading and re-arranging supplies from its warehouses to the King Hussein Bridge has become a tedious, daily process due to ongoing delays and the prevention of shipments entering at the required pace.

In addition, the organization affirmed that it is exerting intense and continuous pressure to bring in more aid, as what is happening today in Gaza represents a blatant violation of all international and humanitarian laws and norms.

For his part, JHCO Secretary-General, Hussein Shibli, emphasized that what is happening in Gaza today is a humanitarian crime that contravenes all international agreements.

"We are facing a catastrophic humanitarian situation, children, women, and the elderly are trapped without food or medicine, amidst systematic destruction and displacement," Shibli said.

He stressed that Jordan will continue to intensify its efforts to bring in aid, as Gaza today needs a global moment of conscience before what remains of its humanity and existence is erased.
