Ammon News - Jordan’s Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Ambassador Amjad Adaileh, stressed that Jordan, guided by its wise leadership and a diplomatic approach rooted in the Arab compass, continues to exert all efforts and mobilize all capabilities to strengthen Arab consensus and serve the nation’s causes through the Arab League and bilateral and multilateral frameworks.

During a session of the Arab League Council at the level of permanent representatives, in which Jordan handed over the presidency of the regular session to the United Arab Emirates, Adaileh underscored Jordan’s commitment to working with Arab states to advance peaceful solutions to regional crises, foremost among them the Palestinian issue, which remains central to Jordan’s foreign policy.

He extended his best wishes to the United Arab Emirates for its presidency of the Arab League Council in its 164th regular session and commended member states and the League’s General Secretariat for the fruitful cooperation, constructive dialogue, and coordination achieved during the 163rd session chaired by Jordan, which helped unify Arab positions on key regional issues.

Adaileh highlighted the grave situation facing the Palestinian cause, particularly the escalation of violence, targeting, and starvation inflicted on the Palestinian people by Israel, the occupying power, across all Palestinian territories. He said these actions have created an unprecedented humanitarian tragedy, marked by the ongoing Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, the policy of deliberate starvation, and the targeting of civilians and journalists in an attempt to silence voices and obscure the truth.

He stressed that the measures and plans announced by the Israeli occupation government and endorsed by the Knesset necessitate intensified political, legal, and diplomatic action at the Arab level to stop this aggression and confront invalid decisions. He called for stronger Arab coordination to mobilize the international community, urging influential powers to assume their legal and moral responsibilities, compel Israel to retract its unlawful actions, and uphold the historical rights of the Palestinian people and their land.

Adaileh further underscored the need to end all illegal settlement expansion in the occupied West Bank, provide protection for the Palestinian people, and ensure their legitimate rights to establish an independent state on their national soil in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and the two-state solution, with East Jerusalem as its capital on the June 4, 1967, borders.
