Ammon News - Lower House Speaker, Ahmad Safadi, on Sunday held separate meetings with Hungarian Ambassador Peter Jakab and Bulgarian Ambassador Metin Kazak to discuss issues of mutual interest, mainly parliamentary relations.

Safadi stressed the need for concerted efforts to stop the war on Gaza, intensify international action to ensure delivery of urgent humanitarian aid, and reject plans to occupy the strip or escalate measures in the West Bank.

Safadi also reiterated Jordan’s call for a path aimed to establish a Palestinian state based on the two-state solution.

During his meeting with Jakab, attended by Deputy Speaker Huda Naffa and head of the Jordanian-Hungarian Parliamentary Friendship Association MP Ibrahim Sarayreh, Safadi underscored Jordan’s "commitment" to strengthening bilateral ties to benefit both nations, particularly in trade and cultural exchanges.

He voiced Jordan’s aspiration to increase scholarships for Jordanian students at Hungarian universities and deepen cooperation with the Hungarian Parliament.

In turn, Jakab commended Jordan’s role under His Majesty King Abdullah II in addressing regional issues, stressing the Kingdom’s ongoing pursuit of security, stability, and peaceful resolutions.

In a meeting with Kazak, attended by MP Abdul Haleem Ananbeh, head of the Jordanian-Bulgarian Parliamentary Friendship Association, Safadi called for enhancing cooperation across all sectors, especially economic and educational, and taking advantage of promising opportunities in the tourism sector.

According to a House statement, both sides affirmed their keenness to strengthen parliamentary ties to serve common interests. Petra
