Wizz Air resumes flights to Jordan with Budapest service

Ammon News - A Wizz Air plane carrying 184 tourists from Budapest landed at Queen Alia International Airport on Saturday, marking the airline’s resumption of flights to Jordan with two weekly services on the route.

The resumption of these flights, particularly from London, Vienna, Milan, and Budapest, aims to boost tourism and enhance Jordan's global competitiveness.

The Jordan Tourism Board is intensifying marketing efforts for this step, which includes expanding the flight network for the 2025/2026 winter season and continues a strategy to attract more European visitors to Jordan.

Details of the Resumption

First Flight: A Wizz Air aircraft arrived from Budapest at Queen Alia International Airport on Saturday, August 30, 2025.
Capacity: The flight carried 184 tourists.

Significance: The return of Wizz Air is considered a strategic move by the Ministry of Tourism to enhance Jordan's global tourism competitiveness and attract more European tourists at affordable prices.

Expanded Flight Network for Winter 2025/2026

The company will increase its flight network from and to Amman, starting November 1, 2025, and continuing until March 31, 2026.
Budapest Route: 2 weekly flights.

London Route: 3 weekly flights.

Vienna Route: 2 weekly flights.

Milan Route: 2 weekly flights.

Jordan Tourism Board Initiatives

The Jordan Tourism Board is intensifying its promotional and marketing efforts to maximize the benefits of Wizz Air's return.

The goal is to increase tourist numbers and distribute tourism activity benefits to various sites across the Kingdom.

Background

Wizz Air first inaugurated its flights to Jordan on December 15, 2021.

Since its operations began, Wizz Air has carried a total of 443,086 passengers to the Kingdom.
