A Journey of Growth: My Experience with the Young Innovators Lab

30-08-2025 10:33 AM

Ammon News - By Heba Karbek- At just twelve years old, I feel proud to be one of the participants in the Young Innovators Lab, a program run by the Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation. Out of more than six hundred applicants, only twenty-five students were selected. Being chosen for such a competitive program has been an inspiring experience that has already shaped the way I see myself and my future.

One of the most important changes I have noticed in myself is a boost in confidence. Knowing that I was able to stand out among hundreds of students gave me the courage to believe in my abilities. I also became a stronger team player. In this program, I work with a group of other young innovators on a project that aims to help people and improve their daily lives. Sharing ideas, listening to others, and combining our efforts has taught me the value of teamwork and how powerful collaboration can be.

The program also helped me develop my critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Through different workshops and challenges, I learned to think more deeply, analyze situations carefully, and come up with creative solutions. These skills will not only help me in my personal life but will also support me in my studies next year, especially in science projects and group work at school.

One of the most exciting parts of the program is the chance to learn by doing. We joined many workshops that made learning fun and practical. I took part in a Critical Thinking workshop and a Science Experiments workshop, where I learned how to look at problems in new ways. We also had workshops on Electricity and Electronics, and later about Microcontrollers, where we built and tested circuits. The Arduino workshop was one of the most exciting because we actually programmed things to work the way we wanted.

I also loved the 3D Printing workshop, where we designed and printed real objects, and the Artificial Intelligence workshops, which showed us how smart technology can be used to solve problems. Currently, we are working on projects, putting everything we learned into action.

The Young Innovators Lab has truly changed my personality. I have become more confident, more creative, and more determined to set goals and work hard to achieve them. I now see challenges as opportunities to grow, and I know how to use my skills not only in school but also in my everyday life. Most importantly, I have learned that innovation is not just about science or technology; it is about making a positive difference in people’s lives.

I am proud of what I am achieving, and I dream of continuing this journey to become someone who creates, helps, and inspires others.
