Ammon News - The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) began on Thursday, removing concrete road barriers and obstructions that encroach upon streets and sidewalks, as part of GAM's plans to facilitate traffic and enhance traffic flow
GAM explained that these obstructions are considered encroachments on streets and sidewalks, which negatively affect their capacity and width and lead to traffic congestion.
Through this procedure, GAM aims at widening roads and increasing their capacity, and reducing traffic congestion caused by these obstructions and barriers, in addition to preserving and enhancing the city's aesthetic appeal.
Furthermore GAM seeks to reuse sidewalks and public spaces that were occupied by these obstructions, and facilitate pedestrian movement, in addition to preserving public safety.
