Ammon News - Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Sami Smeirat said on Tuesday that the pilot phase of the e-passport service will begin in early September.

Smeirat described this as an exceptional step in the government-led digital transformation process, in line with the directives of the National Council for Future Technology, the Economic Modernization Vision, and the Public Sector Modernization Roadmap, with the aim of enhancing the ease and speed of procedures.

This phase is part of a plan to implement systems that adhere to the highest international security standards and ensure the protection of citizens' biometric data, the minister added.
