Ammon News - Egypt has successfully recovered 13 looted antiquities: 10 from the UK and 3 from Germany as part of a comprehensive strategy adopted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates to restore the country’s smuggled heritage items.

The recovered artifacts span different eras of ancient Egyptian history, the foreign ministry said in a statement on Sunday.

They include a limestone funerary stela from the New Kingdom, a small amulet, a fragment of a bronze crown, a beaded funerary mask, several black stone funerary amulets, a skull, a mummified hand, and an amulet symbolizing life in ancient Egyptian civilization, according to the statement.

The move comes as part of Egypt’s strenuous efforts aimed at protecting and preserving its cultural heritage in implementation of relevant directives from President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, it added. Egypt Independent
