Ammon News - Dr. Rana Malkawi, Director of the Drug Directorate at the Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA), confirmed on Tuesday the sale of medicines via social media pages is prohibited in Jordan.

During a radio interview, Malkawi said that the JFDA is making significant efforts to monitor and control these pages.

Malkawi explained that one of the cases the JFDA detected was a page claiming to sell a herbal product that would replace insulin for diabetics. Upon follow-up, it was discovered that the herbs were being packaged inside an apartment and wrapped in containers claiming to be manufactured in Europe.
