Ammon News - The Eastern Military Zone thwarted on Tuesday evening two attempts to infiltrate and smuggle large quantities of narcotic into Jordanian territory.

A responsible military source in the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF)- Arab Army stated that two groups of smugglers were spotted attempting to illegally cross the border from two different locations. Rapid response patrols were deployed and rules of engagement were enforced, forcing them to retreat deep into Syria. With the intensification of search and inspection operations, large quantities of narcotics were seized, and the confiscated items were transferred to the relevant authorities.

The source affirmed that the Jordanian Armed Forces will continue to harness its various capabilities and potential to prevent all forms of infiltration and smuggling operations, in order to preserve the security and stability of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
