Ammon News - The annual statistical report of Sharia courts in Jordan showed that the number of divorces in the Kingdom rose to 25,943 in 2024, including 19,106 cases based on Sharia law, compared to 19,036 cases based on Sharia law in 2023.
A report issued by the Supreme Judge Department on Monday showed that 3,654 divorces were registered in 2024, including 213 revocable divorces, 2,681 minor irrevocable divorces before consummation, 731 minor irrevocable divorces after consummation, and 29 major irrevocable divorces.
The percentage of total divorce cases to total marriage cases remained at 5.8%.
No divorces were recorded for couples under the age of 18 among the marriages registered in 2024, while the age group with the highest number of divorces in the same year was the 30-40 age group.
