Ammon News - The value of bounced checks rose to JD113 million in June, compared to JD93 million in April, representing 8.2% of the total value of checks in circulation.
The total number of bounced checks last month reached 21,300, of which 69.8% were returned for financial reasons, worth JD76.5 million, and 32.4% were returned for technical reasons, worth JD36.7 million.
Statistics from the Jordan Payments and Clearing Company (JoPAC) reveled that the number of checks in circulation increased by 26.9% in June, reaching 562,000, compared to 443,000 in May.
In addition, the statistics showed that the total value of checks circulating in Jordan last month reached JD3.35 billion, an 8.2% increase compared to May, according to AL-Mamlaka.
The value of checks circulating in Jordan during the past six months of this year reached JD19.59 billion.
It is noteworthy that the number of checks in circulation in Jordan last year amounted to 6.51 million, with a value of JD40.3 billion.
