10-07-2025 09:21 AM

Ammon News - Prime Minister Dr. Jafar Hassan inspected the development of the Durra Border Crossing project in Aqaba Governorate on Thursday.

Hassan directed the expedited completion of the project's phases during an inspection tour of several sites, projects, and institutions in the governorate.

Hassan laid the foundation stone for the new double-walled ammonia storage tank project, implemented by the Jordan Phosphate Mines Company (JPMC), to develop and modernize the industrial complex's work sites according to the highest specifications and safety standards. The project aims to increase ammonia storage capacity to 55,000 tons, sufficient for future specialized fertilizer production projects.

He also laid the foundation stone for the construction of two liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tanks at the Jordan Petroleum Refinery Company's warehouses in Aqaba. The tanks, with a capacity of 2,000 metric tons, will cost more than JOD 15 million. The project aims to enhance the LPG storage and distribution system, reduce operational costs associated with its transportation, and contribute to enhancing energy security.
