Ammon News - Two child patients from Gaza have concluded treatment at Jordanian hospitals, returning to the Strip with five family members through the King Hussein Bridge on Tuesday.
The patients received the necessary medical care after being evacuated for treatment in Jordan by the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organisation.
This is the second batch of patients to return to Gaza after concluding treatment. Earlier, 17 children were treated at Jordanian hospitals and returned to the Strip on 13 May, as part of the Jordan Medical Corridor initiative launched by the Kingdom to provide medical support for Gazans.
Dozens of child patients from Gaza have been receiving treatment at Jordanian hospitals since the medical evacuations started in March.
The Jordan Medical Corridor is among the initiatives launched by the Kingdom to mitigate the humanitarian tragedy unfolding in Gaza. The Jordanian initiatives also include dispatching field hospitals, specialized clinics, and medical and food aid caravans.
Upon launching the medical corridor, Jordanian officials announced that the patients and their escorts would return to Gaza upon concluding treatment, to enable Jordan to evacuate more patients for treatment while ensuring support for the steadfastness of Palestinians on their land and countering attempts to displace them.
The patients who returned on Tuesday concluded all phases of treatment, according to hospital-issued medical reports, and they were accorded the best possible medical care and accommodation, alongside their families, while being treated. Petra
