Dinar demand rises amid increase in expatriate remittances

07-07-2025 08:52 AM

Ammon News - Secretary-general of the Jordanian Money Exchange Association, Alaa Deranieh, affirmed a strong demand for the Jordanian dinar driven by increased remittances from expatriates working abroad.

Deranieh pointed out that the Jordanian dinar is witnessing strong demand driven by rising remittances from expatriates and increased tourism activity.

The cessation of the Iran-Israel war had a significant impact on the tourism sector, which in turn led to an increase in demand for the Jordanian dinar, Deranieh said.

Also, Deranieh noted that demand for Arab and foreign currencies is witnessing a noticeable decline, with the exception of currencies from countries that are tourist destinations.
