Ammon News - The Southern Military Zone thwarted at dawn on Sunday an attempt to smuggle narcotics using a drone on its western front and within its area of ​​responsibility, a responsible military source in the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF)- Arab Army announced.

The source added that the Border Guard Forces in the Southern Military Zone, in coordination with military security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, were able to thwart an attempt to smuggle narcotics using a drone that attempted to cross the border. The rules of engagement were applied after the drone was detected and monitored, as it was dealt with and brought down inside Jordanian territory, and the seized items were transferred to the relevant authorities.

The source confirmed that the Jordanian Armed Forces will continue to harness its various capabilities and potential to prevent these narcotic substances from reaching citizens and affecting national security.
