Ammon News - The Cybercrime Unit has urged the public to regularly update messaging applications such as WhatsApp and similar platforms, warning that outdated versions may contain security vulnerabilities.
In an official statement issued on Tuesday, the unit, part of the Public Security Directorate, emphasized that software updates are essential for addressing technical flaws that companies routinely fix in newer versions. These flaws, if left unpatched, could expose users to potential cyber threats.
The unit also advised users to link their accounts to active email addresses and to activate two-factor authentication (2FA), which provides an added layer of protection against unauthorized access. Petra
