Misto: Military-civilian coordination to monitor air traffic in Jordanian airspace

24-06-2025 02:07 PM

Ammon News - Captain Haitham Misto, Chairperson of the Board of Commissioners of the Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC), stated that Jordanian airspace continued to operate despite regional conditions, and there were no threats to any flights to and from Jordan.

In his statements during the Government Communication Forum, Misto added that the CARC had requested all airlines to carry additional fuel for all flights arriving in Jordan, noting that the CARC would cancel or postpone any flight if there was a threat to the flight path.

Misto explained that passengers' right to compensation for flight delays, under the current circumstances, cannot be exercised.

The CARC has adopted two approaches in dealing with recent regional tensions, regarding air traffic to and from Jordan, or aircraft transiting through Jordan, Misto pointed out, stressing the existence of ongoing, 24-hour military-civilian coordination to monitor air traffic in Jordanian airspace.

He explained that there are 48 airlines operating flights to and from Jordan.
