Three drug dealers arrested, 120,000 narcotic pills sized

Ammon News - The Public Security Directorate (PSD) announced that personnel from the Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) have conducted a series of high-profile operations in recent days, resulting in the arrest of 13 drug dealers and traffickers and the seizure of significant quantities of narcotics.

The most prominent case was uncovered in Aqaba Governorate, where intelligence-led efforts revealed a criminal cell affiliated with regional drug-smuggling networks. The cell, which included three individuals one of Arab nationality had developed a new method of smuggling narcotics to a neighboring country using guided balloons and blimps.

Following intensive surveillance and tracking, AND units identified the suspects’ location in a southern border area. A raid led to their arrest and the seizure of several guided balloons, 20,000 narcotic pills, and three firearms.

In another case, AND personnel, in coordination with security forces and customs officials at the Jaber border crossing, foiled an attempt to smuggle 100,000 narcotic pills. The suspect was apprehended inside the Kingdom.

Additional raids in Aqaba led to the arrest of three more drug dealers and the confiscation of 2,300 narcotic pills and four hashish blocks.

In Amman’s Jabal al-Taj area, a large-scale security operation targeting drug traffickers resulted in the arrest of five individuals and the seizure of 1 kilogram of crystal meth and half a kilogram of hashish.

In a separate case in Irbid Governorate, a known drug dealer was arrested and found in possession of 12 hashish blocks.

All suspects have been referred to the State Security Court for further legal proceedings.
