Ammon News - The Eastern Military Zone, within its area of ​​responsibility, thwarted on Sunday a drug smuggling attempt using a drone, in coordination with with security bodies and the Anti-Narcotics Department (AND), a responsible military source in the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF)- Arab Army announced.

Border Guard forces detected a drone attempting to illegally cross the border. The drone was intercepted and shot down along with its cargo inside Jordanian territory, the source added, noting that the seized items were transferred to the relevant authorities.

The source affirmed that the Jordanian Armed Forces will continue to harness its various capabilities and potential to prevent all forms of infiltration and smuggling operations, in order to maintain the security and stability of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
