Ammon News - Prime Minister Dr. Jafar Hassan received Hussein al-Sheikh, Vice President of the State of Palestine and Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), at his office in the Prime Ministry on Sunday.
During the meeting, which was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi, the two sides emphasized the strength of Jordanian-Palestinian relations and the commitment to strengthening them across all sectors.
Hassan affirmed that Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty the King, is devoting all its efforts to restoring the full legitimate rights of our Palestinian brothers, foremost among which is the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967, lines with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
He also emphasized the political and diplomatic efforts led by His Majesty the King to halt the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, push for the adequate, immediate, and sustainable delivery of humanitarian aid, and halt illegal Israeli measures in the West Bank.
Securing the Palestinians' rights on their land and confronting attempts to displace them is a top priority and at the top of Jordan's list of priorities, the Prime Minister stressed.
For his part, the Palestinian Vice President praised Jordan's steadfast positions, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, in support of the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
