Ammon News - The number of visitors to Jordan's museums and archaeological sites dropped by 58% in 2024, reaching 2,408,208 compared to 5,725,172 in 2023., according to official data from the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.
The data showed that the number of visitors includes 23 tourist sites across the Kingdom.
The data categorizes visitors into Jordanians and non-Jordanians. Last year, the number of Jordanian visitors reached 1,055,591 and non-Jordanians 1,352,617, for a total of 2,408,208 visitors.
In 2023, the number of Jordanians reached 1,049,020 and non-Jordanians 4,676,152 visitors, for a total of 5,725,712 visitors.
It is noteworthy that tourism revenue and visitor numbers declined compared to 2023 and 2024.
Tourism Minister Lina Annab previously said that tourism figures for 2023 were the highest in Jordan's history.
