Ammon News - Amman will host the Palestine-Iraq match on Tuesday evening as part of the eighth round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
The match, set to take place at Amman International Stadium, is being held in Jordan at the request of the Palestinian Football Association, which sought FIFA’s approval to designate Amman as Palestine’s home venue due to the challenges of hosting the match in Palestine.
The Palestinian national team has been training in Amman since last week after losing its previous qualifier on Thursday. Meanwhile, the Iraqi national team is set to arrive in Amman this evening, with its final training session scheduled for tomorrow at the match venue.
In Group D standings, South Korea leads with 15 points, followed by the national team with 12 points, ahead of Iraq on goal difference. Oman is in fourth place with 7 points, Kuwait is fifth with 5 points, while Palestine sits in sixth place with 3 points.
The national team will also face South Korea in this round on Tuesday in a match to be held in Seoul. Petra
