Ammon News - Border Guard Forces clashed at dawn on Thursday with armed groups of smugglers who tried to cross the northern border of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan within the area of ​​responsibility of the Eastern Military Region.

The clashes resulted in the killing of four smugglers and the retreat of the rest into the Syrian territory, when the groups tried to cross the international border of the Kingdom, taking advantage of the unstable weather conditions and the spread of fog on the border front of the Eastern Military Region.

The rules of engagement were applied, and those groups were confronted, and large quantities of narcotics were seized, in addition to an automatic weapon (Kalashnikov), and the seized materials were transferred to the competent authorities.
