Jordan's total public debt falls by 1% by end of 2024

Ammon News - Jordan's total public debt decreased by 1% to reach JD44.161 billion by the end of 2024 compared to its level recorded by the end of November 2024.

A data from the Ministry of Finance showed that the ratio of public debt to GDP decreased to 116.8% by the end of 2024 compared to 118% by the end of November 2024.

The data indicated that the government's debt to the Social Security Investment Fund decreased by 3.2% by the end of last year compared to the end of November of the same year to reach JD9.9 billion.

The government extinguished debts last year 2024 amounting to JD3.7 billion, in return for issuing treasury bills and bonds amounting to JD5 billion, the data showed.
