Ammon News - HRH Princess Basma bint Ali, founder of the Royal Botanic Garden, participated in the closing session of the third International Forum of the Qur'anic Botanic Garden, which concluded in Doha under the theme "The Role of Plant Conservation in Enhancing Biodiversity and Environmental Preservation."
The forum brought together environmental experts, policymakers, and researchers from Qatar and abroad to discuss strategies for protecting plant diversity and addressing environmental challenges.
During the forum, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Qur'anic Botanic Garden in Qatar and the Royal Botanic Garden to strengthen regional and international partnerships in plant conservation and biodiversity protection.
Discussions focused on environmental awareness, scientific research, and conservation strategies, with an emphasis on protecting plant resources and wildlife for future generations.
The forum hosted representatives from 22 organizations, including government agencies, academic institutions, and international bodies, who examined legislative and technical approaches to environmental conservation.
A parallel exhibition showcased local and international initiatives in biodiversity preservation, highlighting advancements in plant propagation and ecosystem rehabilitation.
