Israel continues its aggression on Tulkarm and its refugee camps for 28th day

23-02-2025 02:27 PM

Ammon News - Israeli occupation forces are continuing their aggression on the city of Tulkarm and its refugee camp for the 28th consecutive day, as well as on the Nour Shams camp for the 15th day, according to local sources.

In the late hours of the night, the Israeli forces sent heavy machinery and bulldozers to Tulkarm city, heading toward Nablus Street, near the northern entrance of the Tulkarm refugee camp.

She added that the forces intensified their military presence along Nablus Street, which connects the Tulkarm and Nour Shams camps, and around the buildings they have taken control of, imposing a strict siege on the areas.

The Tulkarm refugee camp has seen unprecedented destruction to its infrastructure, with Israeli bulldozers damaging electricity, water, sewage, and communication networks, alongside the demolition of over 14 homes in recent days, especially in the neighborhoods of Al-Nadi, Al-Shuhada, Al-Sawalma, and Al-Khadamat, leaving behind a flattened landscape.

In Nour Shams refugee camp, Israeli occupation forces continue their provocative raids throughout several neighborhoods, which have suffered extensive damage and destruction, particularly in Al-Manshiya, Al-Shuhada, Al-Jami’a, and Al-Joura. They have been raiding homes, blowing doors, destroying their contents, and terrorizing residents. Sounds of gunfire and explosions are being heard frequently.

In the same context, Israeli occupation forces seized two residential buildings belonging to the Al-Dadoo and Al-Zaghal families near the Tulkarm refugee camp, conducting wide-ranging searches and subjecting the residents to interrogation and mistreatment. The residents were forcibly evicted, and the buildings were turned into military outposts and sniper positions. Additionally, a house belonging to the Al-Masri family near Al-Mahjar neighborhood in Nour Shams camp was also seized.

Amid the ongoing siege and catastrophic conditions in Tulkarm city and its refugee camps, over 16,000 displaced individuals have fled the camps due to the continuous aggression.

There are mounting appeals from the residents still trapped in their homes on the outskirts of the Tulkarm refugee camp and in parts of Nour Shams refugee camp, urging for the delivery of essential supplies, including food, water, medicine, and baby formula. This is compounded by a lack of electricity, water, and communication services, and a prohibition on their movement, deepening the scale of their suffering. WAFA
