Ammon News - The Cabinet approved a national healthcare policy and administrative measures during its session Sunday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Jafar Hassan.

The Cabinet endorsed the National Policy and Strategy for Quality and Patient Safety 2025-2030, formulated in coordination with the World Health Organization.

The policy establishes a comprehensive framework for healthcare standards throughout the kingdom, implementing unified quality metrics and safety protocols across all healthcare providers.

The strategy incorporates governance mechanisms, data integration protocols, and healthcare workforce development programs. It aligns with international healthcare practices and economic objectives, including the goals outlined in Jordan's Economic Modernization Vision.

In conjunction with the healthcare policy, the Cabinet approved regulations for birth and death surveillance. The measure institutes mandatory 24-hour reporting requirements and establishes four national registries under the Ministry of Health's jurisdiction: a comprehensive birth and death registry, a maternal mortality database for reproductive-age fatalities, a fetal and neonatal mortality registry covering deaths through 28 days postpartum, and a specialized registry for demographic and pathological monitoring as designated by the Health Minister.
