Unstable weather expected with rain for two days

12-02-2025 08:05 AM

Ammon News - Jordan will experience unstable weather conditions starting Wednesday afternoon, bringing rain across various regions for the next two days, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD).

The department reported that cold weather will prevail throughout the day, with scattered clouds at different altitudes. By the afternoon, cloud cover is expected to increase, leading to scattered showers in the northern and central regions, as well as parts of the east.

Some areas may experience heavy rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and hail. Rainfall may extend to parts of the southwestern regions by evening, while moderate northwesterly winds will occasionally become active.

The JMD warned of reduced horizontal visibility due to fog over mountainous areas, the risk of flash floods in valleys and low-lying areas in the north, and possible frost formation in high southern elevations during early morning hours.

On Thursday, cold and partly cloudy conditions will persist, with a slight chance of light, scattered rain in the north. Winds will be active westerlies, causing dust, particularly in desert areas.

Temperatures will rise slightly on Friday, with cold weather continuing across most regions and relatively cold conditions in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Winds will be moderate easterly to southeasterly.

A further increase in temperatures is expected on Saturday, with continued cold conditions in most areas. High-altitude clouds will appear, particularly in the east, while moderate southeasterly winds will prevail.

The forecasted high and low temperatures for Wednesday are: East Amman 12-4 C, West Amman 10-2 C, Northern Highlands 8-2 C, Sharah Highlands 7-1 C, Badia regions 15-1 C, Plains 13-4 C, Northern Jordan Valley 18-9 C, Southern Jordan Valley 22-12 C, Dead Sea 19-11 C, and Aqaba 20-9 C. Petra
