11-02-2025 11:07 AM

Ammon News - Prime Minister Jafar Hassan conducted several site visits in the Mafraq Governorate on Tuesday, prior to chairing a cabinet session in the northeastern region.

The tour included the King Hussein Development Zone, the inauguration of Greater Mafraq Municipality's new building, and a conference center at Al al-Bayt University's Sustainable Development and Women Empowerment Center.

At the King Hussein Development Zone, the Prime Minister visited factories that have created hundreds of jobs for Jordanians.

He directed officials to provide 10 megawatts of solar power to supply the zone's factories with electricity, enabling their expansion and attracting further investments.

Among the facilities toured was the Jordan-Bahrain Paper Industries Company, established in 2007 on an 18-dunum plot with a JD19 million investment, employing around 150 people and producing approximately 2,000 metric tons monthly.

The Premier also visited the Italian Star Company for Aluminum Extrusion and Coating, established in 2018 on a 12.5-dunum area with a JD5.8 million investment, providing over 50 jobs and producing 200-250 tons monthly.

The Prime Minister then inaugurated the new Greater Mafraq Municipality building, a rehabilitated structure that includes parking facilities for 800 vehicles and will be equipped with a 300-kilowatt solar power system. Adjacent land has been donated for a comprehensive government services center.

At Al al-Bayt University, Hassan inaugurated the Conference and Activities Building at the Sustainable Development and Women Empowerment Center. The 4,000-square-meter facility includes an excellence center for innovation and entrepreneurship, training halls, a modern conference facility, advanced technology laboratories, and a 900-square-meter indoor garden.

The center will be accredited by the Ministry of Labor as one of nine specialized training centers for qualifying and empowering women with small projects.
