Lana Arnaout
Tala Abu Khait is not just a Jordanian wrestler who has achieved outstanding sporting achievements, but an inspirational story that carries with it a strong will and courage to face challenges from an early age.

When Tala was a little girl under one year of age, she was diagnosed with rickets, which led to a deformity in her legs that required the use of an orthosis for a whole year to correct the deviation. Despite passing this stage of health, Tala faced other obesity challenges that affected her self-confidence, as she sometimes felt that people perceived her as a mature person when in fact she was a playful child who loved play and freedom.

At the age of fifteen, she had a golden opportunity to participate in a cultural exchange journey between Jordanian and American schools. There, in a new and different environment, Tala was introduced to the sport of wrestling. This sport quickly became her greatest passion, as she felt that she found herself and her being in this field that requires strength, intelligence and will.

After returning to Jordan, Tala joined the Jordan Women's Wrestling Federation team, which was in its early stages of establishment. With the support of competent coaches and a supportive sports environment, Tala continued to train diligently, enabling her to achieve sporting achievements that raised Jordan's profile on the international stage.

Tala won the title of Arab champion on her weight in two important tournaments; the first was hosted by Jordan, and the second was held in Algeria. Her participation was not limited to the Arab championships only, but extended to Asian and World Championships, where she demonstrated her dedication and outstanding skills.

Today, Tala and her classmates stand out in the images that make Indian headlines, as India hosts a global women's wrestling training camp that includes many countries from around the world. This step reflects the development of women's sports in Jordan, and the leading role it has become in hosting and supporting such international sporting events.

Tala Abu Khait's story is not just a journey of sporting success, it is living proof that persistence and passion can overcome all challenges. She is a role model for young men and women, a source of pride for Jordan, and an inspiration to all those who aspire to achieve their dreams despite difficulties.
