A high-level diplomatic meeting involving the foreign ministers of Jordan, Egypt, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates is set to take place in Cairo, Egypt, on Saturday, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization.
The meeting will be attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi and his Egyptian counterparts Badr Abdelatty, Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Emirati Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Saudi Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Secretary-General of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization Hussein Al Sheikh, and Secretary-General of the League of Arab States Ahmed Aboul Gheit.
The ministers will discuss developments in the region, especially efforts to consolidate the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and provide sufficient and sustainable humanitarian aid to all parts of the Strip, and the need to support the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) and enable it to carry out its international mandate, accoding to Al-Mamlaka.
