Ammon News - An agreement to upgrade relations between Jordan and the European Union to a comprehensive strategic partnership will be signed on Wednesday, European sources confirmed, explaining that the new partnership will include a "large support package."
In previous statements, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates confirmed that the comprehensive strategic partnership agreement opens up border horizons for economic, investment, trade, defense and security cooperation, Al-Mamlaka channel reported.
The sources stressed that the basic elements of the joint declaration that will be signed with Jordan include diplomatic, economic, military, and human development affairs, stressing that the European bloc wants to create a more intensive diplomatic cycle at all levels, open the way for a more ambitious military dialogue, and enhance security cooperation.
On economic matters, the sources indicated that the bloc is ready to provide economic support to boost investment, especially in vital sectors such as mining, energy and the transition to a green economy, and it also wants to make a leap to enhance financial and trade cooperation by announcing a large support package that supports the new strategic partnership.
The sources also stressed that Jordan is a distinguished partner and a close ally of the European Union at all levels, diplomatic, commercial, and security, noting that the strategic partnership with Jordan aims to enhance economic cooperation and open up undiscovered trade opportunities.
