Syrian authorities thwart drug smuggling at Nassib border crossing with Jordan

Ammon News - The Nassib border crossing administration with Jordan seized a large shipment of Captagon pills, amounting to more than 7 million pills, which were hidden inside a shipment prepared for export abroad.

The director of the Nassib border crossing from the Syrian side, Khaled Mohammed Al-Barad, said, "Our cadres affiliated with the Customs Secretariat were able to seize a large shipment of narcotic pills, which were carefully hidden inside a shipment of biscuits prepared for export to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia."

This shipment was packed and prepared for smuggling before Syria was liberated from the regime of the ousted president, Bashar al-Assad, he added.
