FM: We will confront any talk about alternative homeland

27-01-2025 10:59 AM

Ammon News - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi said that Jordan continues to deal with challenges based on its constants of supporting the Palestinian cause, protecting their right to sovereignty and building their independent state.

In a briefing before the Lower House on Monday, Safadi added that Jordan is continuing to send aid to the people in the Gaza Strip, stressing the continuation of support for the people and brothers in Palestine in light of the continuation of the ceasefire agreement and the attempt to consolidate it with follow-up and royal directives through the land and air aid line and making every possible effort to relaunch an effective and influential political movement to embody the independent Palestinian state with Palestinian sovereignty and occupied Jerusalem as its capital.

Jordan provided all possible support to our brothers before the aggression on Gaza, and we continue to support our people in their right to live on their land freely and in a manner that preserves their rights, Safadi stressed.

Safadi also stressed that Jordan's position on the displacement of Palestinians is fixed and unchangeable and is necessary to achieve the stability and peace that we all want, adding that the stability of the Palestinians on their land is a Jordanian constant that has not and will not change, pointing out that any attempt to displace the Palestinians from their land will not bring peace or security to the region.

The Minister also confirmed that "we do not accept any talk about an alternative homeland and we will continue to confront it."
