Ammon News - Occupation Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich responded to US President Donald Trump's proposal to relocate part of the Gaza population to Jordan and Egypt.
The idea of helping them find other places to start new, better lives is an excellent idea, he says in a statement.
On Sunday, the US President Donald Trump put forward a plan, saying that he wanted Egypt and Jordan to take the Palestinians from the Strip in an attempt to bring peace to the Middle East.
"We're talking about a million and a half people to clean up the whole area," Trump told reporters, describing Gaza as a "destructive place" and saying the move could be "temporary or long-term."
The US president said Jordan and Egypt should take in more Palestinians from Gaza.
Asked if it was a temporary or long-term proposal, Trump said: "It could be one or the other."
