Ammon News - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi stressed on Wednesday that fulfilling the rights of the Palestinian people to freedom and an independent sovereign state on their national soil is the only way to achieve a just and comprehensive peace.
Safadi stressed in a dialogue session with Washington Post's journalist David Ignatius that the international community must work together to ensure the continuation of the ceasefire in Gaza and the entry of immediate and sufficient aid to all parts of the Strip.
He stressed that having a clear political vision to achieve a just peace based on the two-state solution is essential to ensure security, and security solutions outside the context of a comprehensive political vision to resolve the conflict prove futile.
" U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed that he wants to make peace, "and we are his partners" in this goal and we will work together for it," Safadi said.
Safadi stressed the importance of the American leadership role in peace efforts, adding that any future approach to Gaza must be based on its unity with the West Bank and aim to achieve a just peace based on the two-state solution.
On the sidelines of the 55th World Economic Forum in Davos, Safadi is holding meetings with a number of foreign ministers and officials.
