Ammon News - The number of digital payment transactions in Jordan via the CliQ and eFAWATEERcom applications, electronic wallets, and automated clearing transfers increased by 81.67% last year, recording more than 218 million transactions, compared to more than 120 million transactions in 2023.
The percentage of the value of cash transactions in circulation in Jordan from these cash transfers increased last year by 42.98%, recording JD39.65 billion, compared to JD27.73 billion in 2023.
The total number of transactions executed via the CliQ instant payment system last year amounted to 83.9 million transactions, with a value of JD12.1 billion, according to a report by the Jordan Payments and Clearing Company (JoPACC).
The number of digital payment transactions executed via the eFAWATEERcom application approved by the Central Bank of Jordan reached 66 million transactions, with a value of JD13.2 billion.
eFAWATEERcom was launched in June 2014. It is an electronic bill display and collection system owned by JoPACC and operated by MadfoatCom.
While the number of transactions carried out by users of electronic wallets for electronic payment in Jordan during the past year amounted to 56.8 million transactions, worth JD5.23 billion.
The movements of the automated clearing house for transfers executed in Jordan during the past year amounted to 11.29 million transfers, with a value of JD9.13 billion.
